This is a fine art, advanced cross-stitch design of Martin Johnson Heade's painting, Orchids and Hummingbird. Heade was a prolific American painter, and his key themes were seascapes, salt marshes, still lifes, magnolias, and hummingbirds and flowers of Brazil. His style was a form of romanticism, and he focused on mood and the effects of light rather than topographical accuracy. The original painting of Orchids and Hummingbird resides at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
