This advanced fine-art cross stitch design, Sunflowers, was developed from an 1881 painting by the well-known artist Claude Monet. The sunflowers used for this lush bouquet grew near the steps leading to Monet's garden at Vétheuil. This painting was exhibited by Monet at the seventh Impressionist Exhibition, and the "brio and daring" of his technique received great admiration from his critics. This artwork is currently on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
