Sleeping Gypsy Cross Stitch Pattern - Henri Rousseau
Sleeping Gypsy Cross Stitch Pattern - Henri Rousseau - Post-Impressionism

Price: $9.97

The Sleeping Gypsy, created by Henri Rousseau in 1897, is the painting this advanced cross stitch chart was developed from. It is one of the most recognizable artworks of modern times and resides at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, a gift of Mrs. Simon Guggenheim. It portrays an African gypsy woman sleeping in the dessert on a moonlit night with her mandolin and walking stick by her side. A lion chances by but does not devour her. The contours in this painting are precise, the color crystalline, and its lines, surfaces and delicate light on the lion’s body are carefully rhymed.
