This advanced fine-art cross stitch design, The Bronco Buster, was developed from a painting done by American artist Frederic Remington in 1885. "Only those who have ridden a bronco the first time it was saddled, or have lived through a railroad accident, can form any conception of the solemnity of such experiences." Frederic Remington.

The interesting thing about this painting is that it was Remington's inspiration for his first sculpture, "Broncho Buster" (1895) which remains to date as the most well-known and popular of all Remington's sculpture designs. Remington presented the sculpture as a gift to President Theodore Roosevelt and the Rough Riders in 1895, and later that year it was copyrighted with the United States Copyright office. It now resides in the White House Oval Office as a center piece and permanent element of the collection.
