This advanced fine-art cross stitch design was developed from the painting Houses of Auvers created in 1890 by Vincent van Gogh at Auvers-sur-Oise, France. He had left the asylum at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence where he was treated for emotional turmoil and began this painting shortly after arriving at Auvers-sur-Oise. He created many of his finest paintings there. This painting resides at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Massachusetts.
