The Fifer Cross Stitch Pattern
Edouard Manet

This fine-art cross stitch design, The Fifer, was developed from a painting done in 1866 by French artist Edouard Manet who is defined forever as one of the world’s greatest artists. This painting has a Spanish influence and a shallow depth. The background is monochromatic with the subject of the painting done in strong colors with a sharp black jacket and shoes, red pants, white strap, etc. The figure emerges firm, strong and alive. This painting resides at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
