This advanced fine-art cross stitch design, Haystacks at the End of the Summer, Morning Effect, was developed from an 1891 painting by the well-known French artist, Claude Monet, who was regarded as the founder and leader of the Impressionist group of artists. Monet always considered light as the principle character of his landscape paintings, and he adopted the practice of painting the same subject under different conditions of light at various times of the day. He did a series of the haystacks over a period of two years. This painting resides at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
